Sunday afternoon

Just spent a wonderful long weekend eating fresh seafood, tropical fruit, and swimming in the perfect sea waters off Otres Beach, in Kampong Som, Cambodia. We are now debating how late a bus to take back to Phnom Penh, and I’m really resisting the idea of returning at all. After nearly two months of work without even a weekend off, I could easily deal with another week of lounging on the beach, and sleeping 12 hour nights in our smurf house at Mushroom Point. A new place called Papa Pippo, recently opened by a nice young Italian couple at the end of Otres serves up decent enough Italian food. (So much so that we didn’t even manage to venture into Sihanoukville for our usual must-have pizza at Marco Polo this time.)

Papa Pippo’s thin-crust prosciutto pizza with jalapenos, the generous grilled squid with garlic, olive oil and Kampot pepper at Mushroom Point, the langostinos from the ladies walking the beach, and the fresh coffee and happy hour at Richies … I can’t wait to come back.

Going to try and finish up “The Blind Man of Seville” now. Too lazy to even upload a photo of the incredible view I’m enjoying. :) Maybe when I get back to the “city.”
