charquaouia-deactivated20120116 asked: So I was searching photos of Naples on Tumblr, and came across your blog. I'd really like to hear how your experience was and the highlights, because I'm going for the first time in December, and then to Morocco afterwards.

Best,
Samia

Grimaldi Lines - Barcelona to Civitavecchia (Rome)
The 22 hour ferry ride from Barcelona to Rome (Civitavecchia is the port, about 40 km away and an easy train ride), cost half as much as Tangier to Barcelona, and was much, much better. The large ship had several restaurants, bars, cafes, a disco, a casino, a spa with sauna and jacuzzi, an internet room, a pool (empty for winter), flat screens everywhere showing movies and tv, and multiple...

Where to?
So here we are, ferry tickets from Tangier to Barcelona in hand, trying to decide how to make our way to Budapest over the next month, when I realize that I have hundreds of tumblr followers, most of whom have way better travel blogs than me! Why not ask you all where/what we should do next? We`ve both been to Barcelona, so that`s just a pit stop. Then what? Hop another ferry to Sardinia, make...

Mariachis in Tangier?
Well this is a surprisingly life like dream, I thought, hazily, as I peered at the dim light in the room. What a bizzare mix of loud mariachi music, African drumming, and Arabic singing. Was it the amazingly authentic and spicy Thai food we ate? (Don`t  miss Tom Yam if you find yourself in Tangier, or hell, anywhere vaguely close by, and sick to death of tagines and cous cous.) As the music got...

Saadian Tombs - Marrakesh
Our guidebook instructs that one of the things “to see and do” in Marrakesh is to visit the final resting place of the Saadian dynasty’s sultans and princes, dating back to the 1500s. The central hall of the tombs is indeed “spectacular” as the book suggests. But the guidebook neglects to tell you that, because the entire complex of tombs is about the size of your...
